York Road Bathroom Renovation
One Bathroom, Multiple Purposes
For our third project together, this repeat client wanted to transform her outdated bathroom into a space that was both beautiful and hardworking.
In addition to a new walk-in shower and better storage for cosmetics, skincare products and everyday essentials, she wanted to accommodate laundry baskets, ironing and folding—all within the existing bathroom.
The challenge was finding enough space for everything without making the room feel crowded.
Finding Space Where You Least Expect It
One of the most creative solutions came from an unlikely place—the existing dormer. While neither the homeowner nor the contractor was convinced there would be usable space inside, I suggested we investigate before ruling it out.
Sure enough, we discovered enough unused space to create concealed shelving and a slide-out ironing board that could be tucked away when not in use.
We also designed a custom laundry cabinet with pull-out baskets and a quartz countertop that doubles as a folding station.
A new custom vanity provided much-needed storage, with towers at each end featuring pull-out shelves for easy access. A walk-in shower eliminated the need to step over the bathtub, while carefully selected finishes brought a fresh, timeless look to the space.
The result is a beautiful, multifunctional bathroom where everything has its place—and everyday routines are easier to manage.
